Bristol Independents - Keep our high streets aliveThe ‘Bristol Independents’ campaign wants Bristol’s local economy to flourish and thrive. According to the New Economics Foundation, each pound spent with a local retailer selling local produce puts twice as much money back into the local economy as a pound spent in a national multiple. So please show some love to Bristol by supporting and celebrating our vibrant array of local independent retailers, cafes, restaurants, and artisans!

Bristol Independents are businesses…
- that are locally owned and operated
- that are run from the shop, stall or farm, rather than controlled from centralised headquarters
- that have a say in how they source products and how their business runs

Traders, please start thinking about what you might do to help us celebrate Bristol Independence Day 4 July! Check out our updated Traders Page for some ideas.

From the national Independents’ Day campaign Facebook page:

5 reasons why we should shop indie for all year around:
- They help build strong communities
- They help create jobs locally
- They offer YOU choice, diversity and personalised service to suit YOU
- Local business owners invest in community where they are based
- Environmental impact is reduced
