Come to the Old City on the weekend of the 8th and 9th of September to see and explore the hidden treasures in the heart of Bristol. Watch some outdoor spectacles as Igfest comes to Old City with its annual festival of thrilling street games. Or come and explore some of the most historic and beautiful buildings in Bristol as the annual 
Bristol is home to some of the most innovative, fashion-forward independent boutiques in the South West. Not only do they represent the way people want to look, they care deeply about where their clothes come from and how they’re made.
In the current economic climate, it is ever more important to support local independent fashion retailers for the cultural, creative contributions they make as well as the economic and social.

Well, after flags of independence being hoisted at five locations in the city, our free prize draw for people who have shopped or eaten in any of the city’s independent outlets (winners to be announced shortly!), and over 46 businesses who participated by offering discounts or special offers on the day, we want to give a big thank you to everyone who supported our independent Bristol businesses!

The Bristol Pound and Koolmami.com have put together a FREE event aiming to boost inter-trading and collaboration between organisations based in Bristol and the surrounding areas. The event, which is being hosted at St Peter’s Church in Frampton Cotterell will feature presentations from local organisations that offer support to independent businesses, each of them discussing different ways that businesses can promote each other’s development 
Local Government Minister, Grant Shapps MP has today announced that another 15 town centres are to be given extra cash for regeneration projects. This now takes the number of "Portas Pilots" to 27 following on from the 12 towns that were given cash to rejuvenate their shopping areas earlier this year
More than 400 towns made applications for funding and business support following a report by Ms Portas into the state of the High Street (available here).
